Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Vivo, has unveiled the Vivo V11 Pro, with an in-display fingerprint scanner. Vivo V9 was launched in March and current offering is said to be an upgrade to this and cheapest in the range which has been priced at INR 25,990 with pre-bookings starting today and the first sale on September 12 via Vivo India website and Amazon India.

The Vivo V11 Pro comes in a single variant i.e. 6GB RAM/64GB internal storage which is priced at INR 25,990.

Customers of this phone can avail INR 2,000 cashback on HDFC Bank debit and credit cards, INR 2000 off on exchange, no cost EMI for 12 months and one-time screen replacement.

Vivo V11 Pro Specifications

It has 6.41-inch full HD + super AMOLED display with a “teardrop notch” and a resolution of 2340×1080. The screen will boast a tiny notch on top, accommodating front camera. The earpiece and sensors would find their spot somewhere on the thin bezel space above the screen. Powering the device is the AI-enabled octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 with four Kryo 260 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and four other Kryo 260 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. This is paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which is expandable to 256GB via a MicroSD card. The phone comes with a game mode which is optimized to provide a better gaming experience. The Vivo V11 Pro is backed by a 3,400mAh battery with QuickCharge 3.0.

At the back of the phone is a dual camera setup comprising 12MP (24 million photosensitive units) and 5MP sensors with dual pixel technology, which Vivo claims can provide better low-light photography. For clicking selfies, there’s a 25MP front facing camera.

Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.2 and Micro USB port.

South Korean phone manufacturer LG has launched budget smartphone with fingerprint scanner LG Q7, the successor to the LG Q6, in India under the price tag of INR 15,990 which will be available in retail outlets from September 1. LG also launched two other models – LG Q7+ and LG Q7α globally.

The smartphone launched in Aurora Black and Moroccan Blue colour variants.

LG Q7 features 5.5-inch FullVision Display, 18:9 screen aspect ratio, Android 8.1 Oreo OS which runs on Mediatek MT6750S processor supported by the Mali-T860MP2 GPU.

It has a 3000mAh battery backed by Qualcomm QuickCharge 3.0 with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 512GB via microSD support, provided through a dedicated card slot.

The smartphone offers audio support via DTS: X Surround Sound, it also comes with active noise cancellation, that is taken care by a dedicated mic.

It has a fingerprint sensor at the back and IP68 certification that makes the device dust/waterproof.

As for as camera is concerned, Q7 comes with a 13MP rear camera, with f/2.2 aperture and PDAF. This supports LED flash, and comes with panorama and HDR modes, as well as 1080p video recording at 30fps. It also has an 8MP front camera with f/1.9 aperture.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2LE, GPS/A-GPS GLONASS, FM radio support, a microUSB 2.0 port, a type-C USB 1.0 reversible connector, and USB On-The-Go. Besides the fingerprint scanner, LG Q7 comes with sensors like accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass.

Global mobile leader, Samsung, opened the pre-booking for its flagship smartphone in India,  on Thursday Samsung launched it in New York-USA. The pre-booking of this handset can be done via Samsung’s official eShop.

It has launched the 2 variants of this handset as below-

1. Note 9 – 128GB & 6 GB RAM variant priced at INR 67,900
2. Note 9 – 512GB & 8 GB RAM variant priced at INR 84,900

The handsets are available in midnight black, ocean blue and metallic copper color variants.

Consumers pre-booking the Galaxy Note 9 will also get a chance to own a Samsung Gear Sport smartwatch for INR 4,999 which costs around INR 22,990 in India.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Specifications

The smartphone comes with a 6.4-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED ‘Infinity Display’ with a resolution of 2960 x 1440. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. The Note 9 is available in two RAM variants of 6GB and 8GB and two storage variants of 128GB and 512GB, which can be further expanded to 1TB of storage via a MicroSD card.

On the photography front, the Note 9 comes with 12MP+12MP dual-rear camera setup. Both rear cameras feature optical image stabilization. For clicking selfies, it has an 8MP front facing camera.

The phone runs Android Oreo 8.0 with Samsung’s own custom UI running on top. There’s no word on when the Note 9 will receive the Android Pie Update.

Other key features of the smartphone include wireless charging and IP68 certification for water and dust resistance. Connectivity options include USB Type-C, NFC, 3.5mm audio port, Bluetooth 5.0 ad 4G LTE and Wi-Fi.

Chinese smartphone maker, Xiaomi, is all set to launch a new smartphone for the Indian and Chinese market in its Redmi series of budget Android smartphones the Redmi S2.

Redmi S2 will be launched today in China and later on in coming days it will be launched in India as well though there is no official word from Xiaomi about the India launch of the Redmi S2.

Xiaomi India’s Mi Home Experience Store in Delhi

In an expansion drive and to lure customers for its future products, Xiaomi India has opened its Mi Home Experience Stores. After launching one in Chennai and Mumbai each, the company has launched one in Delhi as well.

The aim to open these Home Experience Stores to displays a variety of smart products available in the international market along with the offerings launched in the country to the customers.

These Home Experience store displays smartphones, TV, router and accessories along with Mi Laptops, Mi Cycle, Mi Robot, Mi Home Thermostat Electric Kettle, Mi Electric Scooter, Mi Rice Cooker, Mi Smart Shoes, Ninebot Mini, and many others.

Such stores help Xiaomi to get the feedback from the customers that again helps the company to understand consumer interest and plan future launches accordingly.

Lenovo has launched its first-ever full screen smartphone, Lenovo S5 with full screen display at an event in China. The company has priced the Lenovo S5 at 999 yuan (Rs 10,294) with the 3GB version and 1199 yuan (Rs 12,354) for the 4GB variant. The highest variant has 4GB RAM and 128 GB storage on board and the price is Yuan 1,499, which comes to Rs 15,446 on conversion.

Lenovo S5 follows the trend of the newer taller display and this phone will go on sale from March 23 in China.

Smartphone maker, Xiaomi, announced that latest MIUI 9.5 Global Stable ROM for several of its smartphones in the Redmi, Mi MIX, and Mi Max series has started rolling out. The update has started rolling out for Redmi Note 4 MTK, Redmi 3S, Redmi 4 Prime, Redmi Note 3 Special Edition, Redmi Note 3 Qualcomm, Redmi Note 4 Qualcomm/Redmi Note 4X, Redmi 4A, Redmi 5 Plus, Mi Max and Mi Max Prime.

The company has also announced estimated schedule and availability for MIUI 9.5 on numerous other phones in the coming weeks. Updates will be rolled out via over-the-air (OTA) method.

Xiaomi also states that it will gradually release the update for other phones in the company’s portfolio. MIUI 9.5 is based on top of Android 7.0 Nougat.
